On October 2nd, the Alan Dawley Center for the Study of Social Justice hosted the second annual Social Justice Day. Faculty across campus gathered over lunch to learn about the Center’s work and exciting news. Some of the exciting news include the newly available funds to support student travel to conferences to learn about social justice issues and the hiring of two student workers made possible with funds from a generous donor. The student workers will support the Center’s efforts to improve its website and to engage in community outreach. Participants connected with each other to share their recent social justice work. Future social justice projects were also announced. Upcoming projects include “Teaching for the Social Good” in late October, the student/faculty seminar on Critical Whiteness Studies and a grant-funded program to support victims of violence to take place in Fall 2020
