If you are submitting a group project, you should list the names and emails of ALL group members who worked on the project in the submission form. Please see below to determine which scenario your group belongs to and follow the instructions accordingly.
Scenario One: If all group members are participating in the submission to compete for the Alan Dawley Prize, each group member will send an email to maratea@tcnj.edu from their own TCNJ email account, with the subject line that reads “Group Project for Alan Dawley Prize–{group project title}”. In the email you should state the following:
I, {your full name}, acknowledge that I have contributed to the creation of the project “{group project title}” and to the work needed to submit the project to compete for the Alan Dawley Prize. All group members have come to a consensus that, if our project wins the prize, I will receive {please enter percentage} of the total prize money.
(Please note: the percentages entered by all group members must add up to 100%. For example, if you plan to divide up the prize money among five group members equally, each group member will enter 20%. If the percentages do not add up to 100%, the prize money will be divided among all group members equally. We cannot consider the submission if we do not hear from all group members who have contributed to the project by the submission deadline.)
Scenario Two: If only some of the group members would like to put in the work necessary to submit the group project to compete for the Alan Dawley Prize, each group member will send an email to maratea@tcnj.edu from their own TCNJ email account, with the subject line that reads “Group Project for Alan Dawley Prize–{group project title}”.
For group members who have done the work to submit the project, please state the following in the email:
I, {your full name}, acknowledge that I have contributed to the creation of the project “{group project title}” and to the work needed to submit the project to compete for the Alan Dawley Prize. All group members have come to a consensus that, if our project wins the prize, I will receive {please enter percentage} of the total prize money.
(Please note: the percentage entered by all group members participating in the submission must add up to 100%. For example, if you plan to divide up the prize money equally between two group members who have done the work to submit the project, each group member will enter 50%. If the percentages do not add up to 100%, the prize money will be divided among all group members participating in the submission equally.)
For group members who have declined to do the work necessary to submit the project AND have agreed to let other group members do the work to submit the project for the Alan Dawley Prize and share the prize money among themselves, please state the following in the email:
I, {your full name}, acknowledge that I have contributed to the creation of the project “{group project title}” but have declined to participate in the submission of the project to compete for the Alan Dawley Prize. I have therefore forfeited the right to any share of the prize money if the project wins the prize.
(Please note: if some of your group members who have contributed to the creation of the project do not want the project to be submitted to compete for the Alan Dawley Prize, the project should not be submitted. We must hear from ALL group members who have contributed to the creation of the project, whether or not they have participated in the submission. We cannot consider the submission if we do not hear from all group members who have contributed to the project by the submission deadline.)
