CALL FOR PROPOSALS
TRAVEL AWARDS FOR STUDENTS
THE ALAN DAWLEY CENTER FOR THE STUDY OF SOCIAL JUSTICE
A TCNJ Alumnus (’06, History) has generously made a multi-year donation to the Alan Dawley Center for the Study of Social Justice to support student travel to attend conferences on the topic of Social Justice, broadly defined.
Applications for the Dawley Center Travel Award consists of three items and a follow-up requirement:
- A brief letter that provides information about which aspects of social justice the conference addresses, including an url to the conference site. This paragraph should also state what learning goals the student endeavors to achieve and an explanation of how attending this conference would benefit the student’s future coursework and goals.
- A brief letter of recommendation from a TCNJ faculty member explaining how the student would benefit from attending the conference and how the faculty member would follow-up upon the student’s return to assess (informally is fine) the student’s learning.
- An itemized listing of the expenditures associated with this conference attendance, including the dates of attendance.
- Upon return, the student must write a letter to the donor thanking him for his donation and providing information about the positive impact the conference had on the student’s appreciation of specific social justice issues.
